Bentley expands asset analytics with Talon, Pointivo deals

Closed in December, the acquisitions add drone data processing and inspection tools for telecom and utility infrastructure owners.

Bentley Systems, an infrastructure engineering software company, announced it has acquired Talon Aerolytics and the technology and technical expertise of Pointivo. The acquisitions, which closed in December, expand Bentley’s Asset Analytics portfolio, which uses digital twins and AI to support owner-operators in monitoring and managing infrastructure assets.

Bentley Asset Analytics includes OpenTower iQ for telecommunication towers and Blyncsy for road networks. The acquisitions expand Bentley’s offerings in telecommunications and electric utilities, supporting integrated digital workflows for 5G deployments and grid modernization. As next-generation networks and electrification increase demand, the added capabilities help infrastructure owners digitize, analyze and optimize assets at scale.

Talon provides solutions for site surveys, inspections and asset digitization for wireless telecom, broadband and electric utilities. Its platform combines workflow automation, digital twins and AI to help organizations manage recurring tasks and inspections and assess asset conditions over time.

Bentley’s acquisition of Pointivo’s technologies, including its intellectual property and technical expertise, adds capabilities to Bentley Asset Analytics in drone data processing, AI-based damage detection and geolocation. Bentley said the additions will support its platform for AI-driven asset insights.

Dechert LLP acted as legal advisor to Bentley in the transactions, for which financial details were not disclosed.
